Thomas Lovejoy is a globally renowned expert in tropical biodiversity and conservation. He coined the term “biological diversity”, originated the concept of debt-for-nature swaps, and has worked on the interaction between climate change and biodiversity for more than 20 years. He is currently a professor at George Mason University and the chair of the Scientific and Technical Panel for the Global Environment Facility. Dr. Lovejoy received a PhD in biology from Yale University.

The Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force is a sub-national coalition of states and provinces around the world working to address climate and tropical deforestation. Mr. Talocchi is a Board Member of theGovernors’ Climate and Forests Fund, a non-profit, nimble and transparent climate finance facility which was established by the GCF Taskforce.  Previously he was a delegate to the GCF for Amazonas, Brazil, and was director of the Amazonas State Climate Change Center in Brazil, represented the state for the Amazon Fund, and worked for Greenpeace’s climate change, forest and energy campaigns in Brazil.
