Durga Nanda Yadav is a Master of Forest Science (MFS) candidate at the Yale School of the Environment, working with the Schmitz Lab. Originally from Nepal, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Tribhuvan University. Building on extensive experience in both high-altitude and lowland ecosystems across Nepal, Durga aims to advance his expertise in wildlife ecology, forestry, and climate change adaptation to develop integrated, landscape-level conservation strategies. Prior to Yale, he worked with the National Trust for Nature Conservation, where he led field expeditions, human–wildlife conflict mitigation programs, and community-based conservation initiatives, integrating ecological research with local engagement. His research at Yale focuses on wildlife ecology, trophic interactions, and human–wildlife dynamics. Through this work, Durga seeks to strengthen his interdisciplinary learning that bridges science, policy, and community engagement to address the intertwined challenges of biodiversity loss, climate change, and human–wildlife coexistence across diverse ecosystems.
