Jorge is a Colombian student in the Master of Environmental Management program at the Yale School of the Environment. He is passionate about tropical forest conservation and restoration and working with rural communities to achieve a responsible and sustainable use of natural resources. For his summer experience, Jorge interned with Forest of Hope Association in Rwanda, where he had the opportunity to learn about the strategies used by this organization to engage local communities in conservation, their restoration approach to expand Gishwati Forest, and sustainable agriculture through agroforestry systems. Before attending Yale, Jorge worked at Innovations for Poverty Action Colombia as a Research Analyst. Jorge holds a BA in Economics and a BA in Business Administration from Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia.
