Julius Bronola is a first-year Master of Environmental Science student at Yale School of the Environment. Julius holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of California, Berkeley. His research uses a political ecology lens to explore how the illegal wildlife trade in the Philippines intersects with contemporary geopolitical and regional conflicts, e.g., territorial disputes in the South China Sea, counterinsurgency efforts, and the Philippine drug war. Julius is also a Tropical Restoration Library Fellow with Yale’s Environmental Leadership Training Initiative (ELTI), and a Marketing/Communications team member for the Environmental Film Festival at Yale (EFFY).
