Mario Caller Castro is a Master of Environmental Science candidate at the Yale School of the Environment. Before coming to Yale, he worked on various conservation and Indigenous health projects in the Peruvian Amazon. From evaluating the ecological impacts of gold mining in the rainforest to conducting his bachelor’s thesis on understanding the factors associated with chronic health issues in Indigenous communities, While at Yale, Mario will investigate the current impacts of hunting pressure on wildlife and Indigenous communities’ food security in Manu National Park.
