Matt Rutkowski is focused on exploring how commodity-crop supply chains and international trade affect tropical deforestation around the world. Matt is a Master of Environmental Management degree candidate researching the deforestation pressures and challenges to native forest conservation of agricultural communities within Misiones, Argentina. Previously, Matt worked in urban forestry as an arborist in the mountains of Colorado following his bachelor’s degree in environmental science. Matt is passionate about finding ways environmental sustainability can balance with the social and economic needs of modern society.
